Police officers will be parked up in various locations in Melksham over the coming weeks to make it easier for the public to meet them.
The new form of community consultation between the police and the public is being organised by the Melksham town neighbourhood policing team.
Community beat manager PC Kevin Harmsworth said the plan is to have a police car parked in certain areas of the town on Wednesday nights to give locals a chance to speak to members of the neighbourhood policing team.
Locations will include Melksham Market Place on May 13 from 7pm until 8pm, the Co-op in Pembroke Road on May 27 from 7pm until 8pm, Jones Day and Night store in Granville Road on June 10 from 7pm until 8pm and outside the Total Garage in Semington Road on June 24 from 7pm until 8pm.
PC Harmsworth said: “Melksham Town Neighbourhood Policing Team are exploring new methods of becoming more accessible to the local community.
“We would like to hear from anyone in the community who has an issue they feel the police need to be aware of.”
