April was a warmer and drier month than average in west Wiltshire, according to figures compiled by amateur weatherman Geoff Witts.
Figures show the mean temperature for the month was 15.5 degrees Celsius, compared to an average of 13.7 degrees.
Mr Witts, who takes measurements in Steeple Ashton near Trowbridge and who has 60 years of records, said April was also drier than usual with only 41.2mm of rainfall recorded, compared to the April average of 50.1mm.
The hottest day of the month was 19.8 degrees Celsius on Monday, April 20, while on Monday April 27, the mercury fell to 0.5 degrees Celsius - the coldest temperature recorded during the month .
