NHS Wiltshire says it is hoping to get the results of swine flu tests carried out on seven people this afternoon.
Mouth swabs from the seven Wiltshire people were taken on Monday after they complained of flu-like symptoms after returning from Mexico.
As a precaution NHS Wiltshire said the people affected had been given the anti-viral drug Tamiflu in tablet form and asked to stay at home to stop the spread of infection.
A spokeswoman for NHS Wiltshire said: "We cannot say how many or if all the seven people have been given anti-viral drugs due to patient confidentially but where clinically appropriate they have been treated with anti-viral drugs."
The spokeswoman could not give any details of the patients or where in Wiltshire they live due to patient confidentiality.
Currently there are eight confirmed cases of swine flu in the UK and the Health Protection Agency is awaiting the results of 230 suspected cases.
More than 160 people in Mexico are suspected to have died from swine flu and a 23-month-old child from Texas, USA, has died from the disease.
