Pool players had their legs, chests, stomachs and even eyebrows removed for good causes at the annual Trowbridge and District Pool League charity night on Monday.
Held at the league’s venues around the district, the night has already raised over £1,000 for cancer charity Macmillan and Trowbridge-based Stepping Stones, which provides education for children with special needs, and money is still coming in.
The waxing night at the Dursley Arms by Danijela Jenner raised £1,100 while events at Melksham Labour Club raised £80, the John Bull Pub raised £30 and the Wesley Road Club raised about £45.
Mr Matthews, who had his legs, chest and stomach waxed, said: “It started off OK but then I think she was putting bigger strips on. It was a bit sore afterwards.”
