While all the other four divisions of the Robson Taylor, Chippenham League are slowly reaching conclusion, the race for the Premier division title seems to be never ending with a few teams still having four games still to play.

Joint, Leaders Biddestone Social who have five games remaining had a free midweek so they should be fresh for their game against the Ship FC who they were due to play on Thursday but couldn’t raise a team should see them claim another two points to keep them clear of their closest challengers Corsham Centre A at the top of the table.

This will be the first time the clubs have met this season and it is odds on that Biddestone will give their goal difference a massive boost as the Ship go into the game on the back of a 6-0 defeat away at Winsley and it would be a surprise if Biddestone weren’t to do as much damage as they seem to have rekindled their desire to take the title after they had looked to have given up on beating their fierce rivals Corsham Centre to the number one spot.

FC Colerne v Corsham Centre A

FC Colerne host defending champions Corsham Centre A for the second time in eight days and they will be hoping that having suffered a 7-0 defeat with just nine players they will have 11 available for their home clash.

The Centre were in action on Wednesday where they defeated Semington Rovers 5-0 and not having conceded just four goals in any of their previous 10 games the Centre should keep another clean sheet and bang a few goals in at the end to help boost their goals for tally that come the end of the season could prove to be the deciding factor as to whether it is them of Biddestone who will top the table

Maud Heath Sports v Box Rovers

A goal from Tom Smith earned Box Rovers a 1-0 victory over Maud Heath Sports when the teams met a month ago, but since then Rovers have managed just one win from four games and that was against basement side Miller Sports who they beat 5-1 while Maud Heath, have defeated Winsley, drawn with Potterne and lost by the odd goal to both Westbury Rangers A and Biddestone Social.

Maud Heath have three games left before they bring the certain down on what for the Calne based side had been a fairly good season and if they could claim four points from those games then they may just break into the top half of the table for only the second time since they reached the premier division back in 2004.

The match is really hard to find a winner but if Maud Heath can welcome back keeper Jodi Whiston and use Darren Holcombe in his favoured position as a striker then Maud Heath may just claim a narrow win as they look to avenge their earlier defeat.

Semington Rovers v Potterne FC

Semington Rovers and Potterne have had a busy few days as they were both in action in midweek and although Semington would love to complete the season on a high note after their Wednesday night defeat against Corsham Centre A they are going to have to play a lot better against Potterne if they are to have any chance of picking up their 11th win of the season.

Potterne claimed a 5-1 success when the teams met in October with Julian Alexander, James Campbell, Peter Huntley, Wayne House and David Lloyd sharing the goals for the villagers.

The result is likely to go the way of Potterne for a second time but if they underestimate their guests at St Mary’s then Allan Clarke’s Semington side could come out on top of what should be a closely contested game.
