Traffic around Melksham was gridlocked this morning because of a crash on the bypass and a road closure in the town centre.
A car and a Land Rover were involved in a collision on the Western Way earlier this morning. By 8.30am the crash had been cleared, with one of the vehicles on the side of the road by the bridge with its back end smashed in.
Bath Road remains shut in Melksham town centre because of an ongoing improvement project.
The combination of the two caused queues as far back as Semington.
