The Wiltshire Times & Chippenham News sponsored Team of the Week award for April 19, 2009 has been awarded to Premier Division side Maud Heath Sports.
After two successive Sunday’s where it was a close call to find the Team of the Week Award winners last weekend’s decision to award the accolade to Maud Heath Sports for their win over Winsley was one of the easiest for a very long time.
Although, Andy Townsend’s Maud Heath Sports side may have entertained what was described as a weakened Winsley outfit who were looking to make it five wins on the bounce they had to work really hard to claim their 2-1 success as the hosts were also struggling for a team and had to call in Darren Holcombe who had expected to miss the remainder of the campaign due to a foot injury.
Holcombe proved to be Maud Heath’s trump card as he scored both goals that earned his team victory over their guests for a second time this season.
