Budget supermarket chain Aldi has secured planning permission for a new store in Westbury, which will create new jobs.
The supermarket secured outline planning permission for a store at the former Oval Motors showroom in Warminster Road, Westbury, in summer 2007, but only agreed highway alterations with Wiltshire County Council’s highways department in January.
Soon after, Aldi submitted a new planning application, which has now been approved.
Richard Williams, Aldi’s property director, said: “We are extremely excited about the prospect of being able to open a new store in Westbury and are delighted that planning consent has now been granted.
“Aldi is committed to creating employment opportunities for people across the UK and is pleased to announce that the new store will create between 12-15 full-time equivalent positions, which will be sourced locally from Westbury.”
Aldi is yet to announce a start date for building work to begin or the store’s opening hours.
