A 22-year-old Warminster man has been charged with theft after police recovered three ducks stolen from a community farm near Trowbridge.
Youngsters were devastated after thieves broke into Larkrise Community Farm, in West Ashton Road, at 10pm on Monday, April 6 and took three ducks, two of which were Aylesbury ducks called Jerome and Jeremy.
Police officers launched an inquiry which led them to a property in Warminster, where they found the three ducks alive.
The ducks, which were on medication, have now been returned to Larkrise, a community-based farm project helping disadvantaged and disabled children.
A 22-year-old man was arrested and taken to Melksham Police Station on suspicion of theft.
Wiltshire Police confirmed today they had charged Richard Andrew, 22, of The Dene, Warminster with theft and he will appear before magistrates in Chippenham on Thursday, May 7. He has been released on police bail.
Three geese stolen from the community farm on Maundy Thursday have yet to be recovered.
