Tributes have poured in for Chippenham college student Lance Cleverley who was found hanging from a bridge in Monkton Park on Friday.
Mr Cleverley, 25, was discovered by a dog walker shortly before 6.30am on the blue bridge close to the Chippenham Sailing and Canoeing Club.
Flowers, cards and messages have been left at the sport where he died.
News of his death has rocked his closest friends and family who have paid tribute to him.
Friend Georgi McKnight, who studied with him at Wiltshire College's Chippenham campus, said: "I knew him for such a short time but all I can tell you is he was a gentle, kind and beautiful person and anyone you ask would tell you the same.
"Lance was awesome, beautiful and a true gentleman.
"College will never be the same without him and he is sorely missed, but at peace now.
"Everyone who ever met him was blessed and it was a privilege to know Lance.
"They broke the mould when they created him."
Mr Cleverley was pronounced dead at the scene and a spokesman for Wiltshire Police has said they are not treating his death as suspicious.
