Two men accused of killing Trowbridge grandmother Antonietta Guarino appeared in court by videolink yesterday.
Mrs Guarino's former lodger Marc Riley, 24, and his boyfriend David Carr-Burstow, 19, appeared at Bristol Crown Court via videolink from Gloucester and Bristol prisons and were due to make a plea.
But Judge Crowther QC heard from both the prosecution and defence teams that more time was needed.
The case was put back until June 8 for a plea and case management hearing with a trial provisionally set for September.
Mrs Guarino, 61, was last seen alive on January 7 and was reported missing to police by her Surrey-based family on about January 25.
A murder investigation was launched which, at its height, saw more than 100 officers working on the case.
Mrs Guarino's body was eventually found in the river Avon in Bradford on Avon on February 24 by a member of the public.
