Hundreds of passengers were left stranded on the platform at Westbury station after a classic train engine caught fire at the weekend.
The Type 47 diesel, which is a West Coast train, caught alight after developing an electrical fault at 7.20pm on Saturday.
The fire started about a mile outside Westbury station which was contained by staff on board. The rear engine then shunted the train into Westbury station.
The tour was being run by Nenta Traintours, who offer day trips and holidays across the UK and abroad, and passengers had paid between £55 and £130 a ticket for the return trip and dinner from Norwich to Torbay.
A control unit from Devizes and three pumping appliances from Westbury, Warminster and Trowbridge were tasked to the scene and dealt with the blaze.
At around 9.30pm the rear engine was put to the front of the train and took passengers to Reading where another diesel locomotive was waiting to complete the journey.
All passengers on the train were safely evacuated and fire crews left the scene at about 11pm.
