A mobile library service which will visit schools and homes in west Wiltshire villages will launch on Friday.
The book van, which is a Wiltshire Council initiative, will make its first stop in Sutton Veny Primary School near Warminster.
Its timetable will see it visit more than 70 locations including, Bishopstrow, Dilton Marsh and Staverton.
The new mobile library also has a computer terminal on board with internet access for the public to use at the longer stops, and holds more than 2,000 items, including books and DVDs.
Geoff Landridge, Wiltshire Council’s library services manager, said: “Wiltshire Council now has a fleet of modern, comfortable and efficient mobile libraries.
“I am delighted that this well equipped vehicle will be taking the best of mobile library services to customers in some of the most remote parts of the county.”
The new van is one of the five strong fleet in Wiltshire that serves more than 200 communities, dozens of schools and over 100 residential homes.
