I am horrified by the inflammatory headline that you are using on the Wiltshire Times website concerning the problems with the King Street car park in Melksham – “Foreign lorry drivers put the pee into parking in Melksham”.
At no time during the debate was there any discussion about the nationality of the drivers – I feel that you are using tactics to escalate a problem and that they are out of place in this matter.
This is the sort of headline that causes people to support the BNP or maybe this is the policy of your paper.
No wonder Harriet Harman talks about the BNP being a big electoral threat.
At the end of the day, lorry drivers are a necessary part of our economy and not all lorry drivers are going to be a nuisance – you are tarring them all with the same brush.
There are environmental issues to be tackled and I trust that the Wiltshire Council is going to deal with this problem. Just please do not use such inflammatory language.
Cllr Pamela Wiltshire
Melksham Town Council
