It is very rare in life that you get a second chance to go back and follow a way that benefits communities for generations to come.
This is an opportunity that faces Westbury, surrounding towns and villages, to create a national park within our community.
This was an approved possibility back in the 1950s and it is my belief with the cooperation of our communities we have a very good case for making the Bratton Valley into a protected area for now and future generations.
A local survey of a cross section of people has highlighted the asperations of our residents.
I would challenge local government to run a more detailed survey and for parishes too so one can ascertain whether this idea has a real chance backed by their support.
This would mean that Lafarge would have to be made aware of this community sponsored idea as they would have a responsibility to address issues that still remain outstanding.
