So the council is once again wasting tax payers money - this time £35,000 - on uniforms that aren`t needed or wanted by the library staff.
Instead of wasting money they should be putting it towards the Internet system that they laughingly say they provide.
I’ve written about this a couple of times before and this proves that nothing is being done about it because the council couldn’t give a damn.
On the complaint form provided by libraries it says 'your views count'.
Try proving it.
The Internet is constantly unavailable and the printing on some documents comes out so small that you need a magnifying glass to read it.
I’ve tried pointing it out to the government ombudsman and they show little, if any, interest – they are supposed to help members of the public who have problems with the local councils.
Maybe members of the public should stop paying the part of the council tax that goes towards the library then they’d start to take notice.
Then again they’d quickly take us to court for failure to pay – pity we can’t take the council to court for failure to provide the services we pay for.
I’d like to close by repeating what I’ve said in previous letters – the librarians are not to blame for the lack of Internet service and yet they are the ones who take the abuse from frustrated library users.
The anger should be directed at the engineers who constantly prove that they have no idea what they are doing.
