PREMIER DIVISION: Tonight sees another busy night of fixtures from the Robson Taylor, Chippenham Sunday League and of the three games being played this evening in the Premier division, three of the sides due to play still fancy their chances of taking the title.
Biddestone Social who currently occupy the number one spot with Corsham Centre A will take outright control at the summit if as predicted they defeat basement side Miller Sports who suffered a 9-0 loss when the teams met in early February.
On that occasion Jamie Lyons top scored with a five timer and even though Biddestone may have to play the game without a full quota of players they will still be odd’s on to claim the points that will see them reclaim the number one spot.
Westbury Rangers A v Box Rovers
Box Rovers may be out of the promotion race but Stuart Beeho’s side could still have a say as to where the silverware might end up this season. Rovers travel to Meadow Lane where they will be greeted by old adversaries Westbury Rangers A and as the teams have been involved in some thrilling contests over the years this game should be no different and if Rovers have a half decent side available they could avenge their 3-2 loss from last October when a Marc Lanfear double and Chris Storey’s single earned Rangers their win.
The result should be another close one with the hosts tipped to take the spoils.
Maud Heath Sports v Potterne FC
Third placed Potterne FC travel to Calne for a showdown with Maud Heath Sports hoping to bounce back to form with a win after Sunday’s 3-0 defeat against Winsley saw them knocked of the top of the table.
Goals from Myles Hickton, Ben House and Andy Davies earned Potterne a 3-1 success over their guests back in February and although Maud Heath would love to avenge that defeat they face an uphill task as they have lost top goalscorer Darren Holcombe for what could be the rest of the season wit ha foot injury.
Potterne should claim a victory that keeps them in third spot but it should be another close call, but their hopes of success have been boosted by the return of Adam Heath and Julian Alexander who both missed the defeat against Winsley and Andy Coombes looks set to make his debut.
