The funeral of Trowbridge builder and cricket captain Adrian Cooksey is due to be held later today at the Holy Trinity Church.
Mr Cooksey, a father-of-three, was found unconscious on a pavement in Spa Road, Melksham, in the early hours of Sunday, March 8. He was taken to hospital but died the following day from a head injury.
Police have charged 20-year-old student with his murder.
Mr Cooksey’s funeral service will be held at church at 2pm and will be led by the Rev Beth Hutton.
It will be followed by a cremation service at West Wiltshire Crematorium in Semington.
Players with Bradford on Avon Cricket Club, where Mr Cooksey played for the first and second teams, will be among those to attend, along with Mr Cooksey's three sons, Adam, Michael and Simon and his fiancee Tracey Suggitt.
His family have said they would welcome anyone who knew him to attend the services.
Donations in Mr Cooksey’s memory should be made to Bradford on Avon Town Cricket Club, for which Mr Cooksey played, c/o Bowyer funeral directors in Trowbridge on 01225 768846.
*Thomas Richard Minshull, of Spa Road, Melksham, has been charged with Mr Cooksey’s murder and he is due to appear in Bristol Crown Court on June 12.
