A 17-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital after falling over the handle bars of her bicycle at Center Parcs in Longleat Forest near Warminster last night.
Great Western Ambulance Service received a 999 call following the incident, which happened at 6.07pm.
It was reported the patient had fallen from a bike and had been unconscious.
A first responder from Center Parcs was first to arrive at the scene, shortly followed by Warminster’s Community First Responders, Tony King and Cathy Clark, and a double manned ambulance from Warminster ambulance station.
The cyclist was examined by the ambulance team at the scene, and was placed on a spinal board and had a collar fitted.
The teenager is thought to have suffered spinal injuries and a broken shoulder.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene to airlift the patient to hospital.
Emergency Care Assistant Justin Whatley, from Warminster ambulance station, said: “We treated the patient with full spinal care due to her suspected injuries before she was flown to Salisbury District Hospital.”
Community First Responder, Tony King, said: "We got there five minutes after the call came in to find dad knelt down next to his daughter. They had her sat up.
"When we got there she was quite dazed and wasn't sure what had happened.
"Between us we did a full check of her spine and found tenderness in her lower back."
It is thought the teenager was not wearing a helmet at the time of the fall.
GWAS is urging people to take every safety precaution when riding bicycles, on and off road, and always ensure a helmet is worn.
