Visitors are being urged to stay away from the Royal United Hospital following an outbreak of a sickness bug.

Two wards remain closed to new admissions at the Bath hospital due to an outbreak of the Norovirus, which is highly infectious.

The RUH is controlling the spread of the infection by isolating patients confirmed as having the virus.

Jane Thompson, communications manager, said, "We currently have two wards closed to new admissions.

“We also have one bay on three other wards closed to new admissions."
