Two dedicated emergency responders from Warminster have two reasons to celebrate this week after picking up an award and getting a grant from the town council.

Volunteers Tony King and Cathy Clark were one of many to pick up a grant from Warminster Town Council on Monday evening at the Civic Awards.

The £1,250 they received will go to the First Responder charity which pays for the lease on their response vehicle.

The pair also picked up Great Western Ambulance Service’s Chief Officer Commendations for their work with the charity.

Other voluntary or charitable groups to benefit from the town council’s civic funds – which incorporates money bequeathed to the Dewey House funds – include the Wessex MS Therapy Centre (£1,000), Chapel of St Lawrence (£5,000) and The Athenaeum Trust (£5,000). The total funds available were £25,900.
