PREMIER DIVISION: Tonight sees the start of the midweek fixtures from the Robson Taylor, Chippenham Sunday League and there are two very important games in the Premier division.

Third placed Dog & Fox Ashley will be hoping that they will have a few of their missing players back for tonight’s match away at three time defending champions Corsham Centre A.

Having lost to bitter rivals Winsley at the weekend the Dog need to be at full strength for their trip to Meriton if they are to have any chance of beating Martin Bradfield’s ever improving Centre side.

The Centre defeated the Dog 5-1 earlier in the season when Russell Whatley’s side were missing a number of key personnel but if the Bradford based side have the right attitude for the reverse encounter then the Centre who are tipped to claim a narrow win will have to work extra hard for the points but the Dog may just have an outside chance of getting something off the Centre for the first time in eight meetings.

Biddestone Social v Westbury Rangers A

One of the games of the evening would probably have been at Yatton Road where Biddestone Social would have claimed top spot if they had beaten Westbury Rangers A but the game has been postponed due to Rangers not being able to a raise a team

Box Rovers v Maud Heath Sports

Box Rovers 2-0 defeat against Semington Rovers last Sunday ended their outside hopes of claiming a top two finish, but the visit of Maud Heath Sports to the Recreation ground will them an immediate chance of returning to winning ways a Andy Townsend’s visitors could only manage a 1-1 draw with the Ship five days ago.

Box won both encounters last term, 4-3 and 3-2 and even though they are struggling with an injury crisis they should have the players capable of earning them a third straight victory over Maud Heath but if the visitors can get things right on the night they will have a chance of getting at least a point from a game that they are expected to lose.
