Children from primary schools across west Wiltshire took part in the 33rd annual Children’s Day of Dance.
The event, run by the Melksham Country Dancers, saw children from the Manor Primary School, Aloeric Primary School and Forest and Sandridge School, all in Melksham, make their way to the Christie Miller Sports Centre in Bowerhill last Wednesday.
They were joined by children from schools in Corsham, Trowbridge and Devizes.
The schoolchildren learned traditional dance moves at their own schools before joining in with the Melksham Country Dancers at two sessions during the day.
Melksham town crier Peter Dauntsey and mayor Richard Wiltshire also attended the event.
Christine Gale, secretary of the Melksham Country Dancers, said: “Each year we hope very much that seeds are sown in our children and that they will enjoy folk dancing for many years to come.
“We want to thank our chairman, Geoff Elwell, and everyone who contributed on the day.”
Music on the day was provided by Wiltshire Klof and the Melksham Country Dancer’s also wanted to thanks MC Stan Vice for his help.
