A pumpkin, beer and cider festival will be held for the first time at a pub near Warminster.
Packets of pumpkin seeds, including the Atlantic Giant, Jack O’Lantern and European Mammoth variety, have now gone on sale at The George Inn at Longbridge Deverill, in preparation for its festival scheduled for October.
The event, which will be held at pub from October 2-4, will include live music and entertainment, centred around a pumpkin competition.
Packets of seeds are on sale for £2 and all profits will go to Help for Heroes Laurie Creighton, manager of the George Inn, said: “We are really excited about launching the Pumpkin Festival and we are keen to encourage people to start growing with our charity pumpkin seeds.
“It will give people who are interested in entering our pumpkin competition an opportunity to buy seeds which are easy to care for.
“Growing vegetables is a fun activity for children and adults alike, particularly in the current economic climate, and it’s all in a good cause.”
The pumpkin seeds will need to be planted between now and June.
