A Trowbridge couple who got together after literally falling into each others arms at a roller disco will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on a dream Caribbean cruise.
Trevor and Pauline Mumford are enjoying a 24-day cruise but will celebrate with family and friends on their return.
The couple, whose 50th anniversary is tomorrow, met at Bath pavilion roller skating rink when Mr Mumford fell into his future wife’s lap after losing control.
The couple married a year later at St John's Catholic Church in Trowbridge.
Daughter Julie said: "From that moment on they were inseparable and have enjoyed a wonderful life together.
"Since my mum has been ill it has made them even closer as every second counts.
“You can see how much they really mean to each other."
Mr Mumford has spent his life working for a number of local companies as a maintenance fitter and in retirement enjoys fishing.
His wife worked at Avon Rubber for 24 years and now loves to play bingo.
They have four children, Anthony, Diane, Julie and Nigel, as well as 11 grandchildren who have all helped to organise a party for the couple at the Wesley Road Club on Saturday, April 18.
Anyone who knows the couple are invited to attend.
