A VACANCY for a town councillor in Bradford on Avon has arisen after David Bolwell stood down citing disagreements with council decisions and work commitments.
His main concerns include the town’s financial contribution to the Kingston Mills footbridge, the costs of the proposed St Margaret’s Hall improvements and problems over the Vaults project, a community building to be included in the Mill development.
Mr Bolwell, 53, said: “I made my feelings clear when I resigned. It was only fair to let them know how I was feeling about what was happening. I’m gravely concerned over the timings and the size of the projects they are taking on.”
A by-election will be held if enough candidates come forward by today or else a councillor will be co-opted.
