There was standing room only at the funeral of former Beanacre Cricket Club player and father-of-three Owen Lewis, held at West Wiltshire Crematorium in Smeington this morning.
Family and friends filled the chapel as Mr Owen's coffin was brought in draped in a Union flag as well as the Zimbabwean flag, to illustrate his mixed heritage, as he had been born in Harare.
Mr Lewis, 41, was found dead at his flat in Bath Road, Melksham, on Friday, March 20.
At the funeral, mourners heard tributes from his ex-wife Anne in which she said Owen had been her first love and she couldn't believe he was gone.
Also read out was a tribute from Mr Lewis' five-year- old daughter Megan which was simply: "I miss my daddy very much. I love my daddy very much."
Mr Lewis' niece Ashleigh took read a tribute on behalf of Charles, Mr Lewis' brother, who was not able to make the service.
It said he had been in awe of his brother's love for his children and his many sporting talents.
People were given time to gather their thoughts and memories of Mr Lewis to the sound of Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars, as well as in prayer.
The service was followed by a gathering at the Conservative Club in Bank Street, Melksham.
