Money raised through the Wiltshire Times’ Wedding Fair will go to a cancer charity in memory of the parents of a bridal shop owner.
Beverley Lee, 43, who owns The Clothes Horse in Bathford, offered the choice of any of the dresses in her shop as a prize at the fair, which was held on Sunday at Lackham Countryside Centre near Lacock.
A sum of £145 raised through the sale of raffle tickets for the prize will be donated to the Cancer Research charity in memory of Ms Lee’s father and mother, who both died from the disease.
Her father Bob Hinett, 82, died in February from cancer while her mother Jean Hinett, 66, died three years ago.
Ms Lee, who has run the bridal shop in High Street, Bathford, for just over eight years, said: “It is a charity that is very close to my heart.
“The winner is due to come in this week and she will be able to choose any dress she wants.”
The 15th annual Wiltshire Times Wedding Fair will be followed by another in the Civic Hall in Trowbridge on September 27.
Sunday’s event featured a fashion show by Brides by Victoria in Westbury, organised by Wayne’s World of Fashion and a horse and carriage from Bramble Farm in Trowbridge.
