Childcare students from Wiltshire College Trowbridge have raised more than £500 for the neonatal intensive care unit Space to Grow campaign at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
The 12 second year students organised a number of fundraising activities including a sponsored silence in pyjamas, a cake sale, a lucky dip and a ‘guess the name of the teddy’ competition, raising a total of £528.28.
Student Amy Chadwick, said “We are proud to have raised so much for a local charity that touches so many people’s lives.
“The sister of one of the people in our group was treated there and everyone seems to know someone who’s been helped by the NICU.”
The fundraisers presented a cheque at the unit last week.
Lecturer Lynn O’Pray added “The girls have done all this hard work themselves. It’s part of their key skills project where they learn administration skills, how to conduct team meetings and working with others.”
