Villagers in Lacock are gearing up for the annual scarecrow trail that draws thousands of visitors in each year.
There are set to be a number of weird and wonderful popstar-themed scarecrows this year, as businesses choose their favourite singers to raise money for Lacock CE Primary School.
Some have gone to extremes to make sure their scarecrow looks high quality.
Lacock Bakery owner Jean Sheard has been taking part since the event started and wanted to make sure her scarecrow wasn’t floppy this year.
“I know scarecrows are meant to be floppy but I didn’t want mine to be. It’s easy choosing what you want it to be but its stressful making it.
“I used my nine-year-old granddaughter Holly as a model and made a plaster cast of her chest and torso because I only wanted a small scarecrow to fit in the bakery window. She was very good, I think she deserves a medal.”
Pupils at Lacock School dressed up as their favourite singers on Friday after they came up with this year’s popstar theme.
The event is organised by the Friends of Lacock School and is the main source of finance for the school, which has 87 pupils.
FLS secretary Clare Andrews said: “It is a fantastic event for both adults and children and is the biggest fundraiser the school has.
“It's in its sixth year and is following the success of last year with the cartoon character trail.
“It raised more than £10,000 to create an ICT suite and an extension for a cloakroom for the younger children and a play area.”
The trail will run from April 4-19.
