Police have issued a witness appeal after an elderly man was assaulted by a youth while walking his dog in Corsham.
A 72-year-old man was walking along Priory Street when a youth, thought to be aged between 16 and 17 years old, was cycling towards him on the pavement.
The pensioner said: “I tried to get out of his way quickly because I had my dog, but I knocked my elbow on his bike and he fell off the bike and over a small wall.
“When he got up he started swearing at me and shoved me so I just started walking away because I didn’t want any trouble. He just followed me and said where do you think you are going and shoved me again.
"I was proud of myself as I managed to keep my cool and he just got on his bike and left.”
He said he hopes the boy can be put on the straight and narrow before his behaviour gets him into trouble.
The teenager was described as white, between 16 and 17 years old, wearing a dark jacket or jumper and dark trousers with a black bike.
Anyone who witnessed the incident should contact the police on 0845 408 7000.
