COLIN Lindzey, 58, was born in Hilperton and has lived there all his life. He has been involved in the local amateur theatre scene since he left Nelson Haden Boys School in Trowbridge and joined the Bath Light Operatic Group.
Over the years he has played many leading roles as well as helped to promote it across west Wiltshire.
Since the age of 21 he has worked for funeral directors CS Bowyer in Trowbridge.
Recently he has moved into producing musicals and compiling revues for groups in Trowbridge, Devizes and Keynsham. His latest venture is as co-director and compiler for Bath Light Operatic Group’s annual Songs From the Shows concert at the Guildhall, Bath, from April 2-4, with the theme Young @ Heart.
Mr Lindzey's other intersts include gardening and reasearching the many branches of his family tree. He enjoys cycling to keep fit and also collects postcards and at the last count had more than 6,000.
How would your best friend describe you?
A happy chappy but can be stubborn. Put it down to being born a Taurus.
Where would you recommend for a great day or evening out?
The Watermill Theatre at Newbury. Always great productions and in idyllic surroundings. It only has 200 seats so very intimate and you really feel part of the action.
What do you do for fun?
I have a large garden spend a lot of time tending to it. Also enjoy tracing my family tree and reading, especially autobiographies.
What motto or phrase do you try to live your life by?
Manners Maketh Man, Nelson Haden Boys School’s motto.
Who in the public eye do you respect the most and why?
Prince Charles. It needs a high profile person to get us to think of ways we can save the planet before it is too late.
What is your biggest regret Not learning to play the piano properly.
What is your favourite film or TV show and why?
I do enjoy Strictly Come Dancing. It’s just pure showbiz.
What local shop of business would you recommend?
I think Knees in Trowbridge as you can always get what you want in there and the staff give a wonderful service.
Describe your perfect day It has to be a day out with friends for a meal followed by a visit to the theatre.
