A race with a difference will take place in Melksham as part of the town’s first ever food festival in May.
On Sunday, May 3 people are being invited to take part in a milk churn race in Market Place, which will coincide with the launch of the food festival.
Teams of four have to push milk churns filled with water, with the first race taking place at midday and the final race scheduled for 3pm.
Melksham Food Festival will run from May 3-9, with celebrity chef Martin Blunos signing up to be the face of the festival.
Food and drink tastings, demonstrations, farmers’ markets, food and drink trails and themed events at hotels, shops and cafes will feature during the festival.
Entry to the milk churn race costs £5 per team and the winners will be presented with a trophy.
