Teenagers from across Wiltshire are take part in the annual Wiltshire Skills Festival at Wiltshire College Lackham on Friday.
Around 1,800 young people aged 14 and 15 years old from schools all over Wiltshire are taking part in a range of activities to help them get a hands-on experience of a range of careers, skills and courses that are available to them.
They have the chance to build a wall, make furniture, meet a journalist, create a work of art, read the TV news, put up a bouncy castle, have a mini-manicure, taste food produced by catering students, design a garden and ride a mechanical horse.
Year 10 students will also be able to talk to employers, training providers and course tutors to help decide what they would like to do in the future The event has been organised by Connexions Wiltshire, part of Wiltshire County Council, and Wiltshire College, with support from the Learning and Skills Council.
This year the festival is divided into eight areas, including engineering, construction, motoring and electronics in one area with media, design, performing arts and photography in another.
Many local colleges, employers, school sixth forms and training providers are among the exhibitors with Wiltshire College being the backdrop for the event and providing information about the courses its campuses have available.
