Children from schools across Melksham are being invited to take part in country dance routines at this year’s annual Children’s Day of Dance.
The event, which is in its 33rd year, will be held at the Christie Miller Sports Centre in Bowerhill on April 1 and will see pupils dance with each other, as well as members of the Melksham Country Dancers.
Christine Gale, secretary of the Melksham Country Dancers, which has been involved in the event for the past 31 years, said: “The children learn and do the dancing at school beforehand, make sure they learn the moves and then they come and dance along with us.”
Special guests invited to the event include the mayor Richard Wiltshire and town crier Peter Dauncey.
