Steeple Ashton v Freshford United
Steeple Ashton played hosts to Freshford United in this Semi Final of the Chantry Digital Limited of Trowbridge sponsored knockout cup and suffered one of their heaviest defeats of the season losing 5-0.
Neil Birleson put the visitors in front to give them a one goal advantage at halftime.
The second half saw Freshford dominate and score four more goals, coming from Phil Little, Tom Arnold, Mark Birleson and a second from Neil Birleson.
The Deverills v Frome Town Sports
The Deverills took on Frome Town Sports in the second Semi Final at Heytesbury and began much the stronger of the two teams and had the better chances to score, but Frome’s defence held strong.
The first goal eventually came on 36 minutes with Adam Lewis scoring for The Deverills. 1-0 then became two-nil on the stroke of halftime as Gary Lewis scored.
The second half saw both teams pushing for goals but defences came out on top.
The match then turned ugly in the 76th minute as The Deverills lost Damien Holton for violent conduct and Frome lost their Captain Tim Cuff for two cautionable offences.
The remainder of the match was played out with no further incidents and The Deverills rightly take their place in the final.
Division Two Cup
Broughton v FC Courthouse
Courthouse travelled to Broughton for the second leg of the Division Two Cup Semi final sponsored by E J Shanley & Son Limited holding a 3-1 lead.
Broughton dominated the first period and by halftime the aggregate score was level as Julian Putt scored a brace.
The second half saw a shell shocked FC Courthouse started much the brighter and they restored their aggregate lead with a goal from Jason Povey.
Scott Askew then completed the win with a goal ten minutes from time to make the match score 2-2 and 5-3 on aggregate.
Spring Cup
Bratton Reserves v Westfield FC
The much delayed quarter final of the AM Print and Copy of Westbury sponsored Spring Cup finally went ahead with Bratton Reserves coming out on top by the odd goal in five against Westfield FC.
The first period finished level at nil-nil, the match coming to life in the second with Bratton scoring three quick goals through a Mark Henshall brace and 30 yard rocket shot from Shane Randall.
Westfield then pulled two goals back themselves but Bratton held on for the win.
