Westbury Youth Lions played Melksham Park A in their penultimate game of the season at Redland Lane; both teams had their chances to take the win in a highly entertaining match.
In the first half both sides looked to attack and it was Melksham who created the early chances; Westbury keeper Alex Mengham and defender Josh Whitehead were up to the challenge to clear the lines for the greens.
Henry Bilsdon & Ben Starr started to get the Lions attack going down the left but by half time neither side were able to break the deadlock.
After the break the end-to-end action continued, Park looked certain to score but for Bilsdon’s block who then had to leave the field for his efforts.
Melksham final broke the deadlock with Matt Harrod’s nice finish on the rebound.
The greens weren’t to be outdone and some nice play down the right found Adam Kenich who beat the keeper at the near post to tie the game at the whistle.
