Both these sides entered the Division Four contest unbeaten and after 40 minutes of great football that still remains true.
Devizes started brightly and immediately went on the attack looking for the opening goal but some resolute defending from Corsham kept them at bay.
The first real chance fell to Tom Carey whose snap shot was pushed round the corner by the keeper.
The keeper once again came to Corsham’s rescue when he stopped a fierce shot from Cameron Readers who had beaten 4 players on a mazey run from the half way line.
The contest continued swaying from end to end with the Devizes midfield of Jack Holland and Thomas Woodman working frantically to get the upper hand.
Despite both sides attempts the half time score line was goalless.
The second half was just as tight with it beginning to look if neither side would score as the Devizes defence of Callum Barnes and Joe Dilling stopped everthing Corsham through at them and the Corsham defence equally repelling the Devizes forwards.
Mid way through the half Devizes finally did manage to score following a long ball out of defence by Luke Carey, the ball was controlled by Ben Thompson and laid into the path of Ciaran Webster whose shot flew in off the opposite post.
Corsham pressed forward looking for an equaliser but the defence held strong, and even when the did get shots in the keeper Toby Buller showed excellent handling.
As the match went into the last minute Devizes thought they’d done enough to gain another 3 points but Corsham had other ideas and with there final attack a hard near post cross was met by two forwards and a defender at the same time and the ball flew off the unfortunate defender and nestled into the net.
With Corsham celebrating Devizes almost won the game with the last kick of the game when a miss hit pass from Jack Holland found Webster in space and his fierce shot was brilliantly saved by the Corsham keeper, who then managed to somehow keep out the follow up shot with another brilliant reaction save.
The final whistle brought applause from all the spectators and general agreement that the score was a fair reflection of the game.
