Businesses in Trowbridge are being invited to seek help during the economic crisis by consulting experts at an event organised by the town’s chamber of commerce in May.
The event, called ‘A cutting edge Helping Hand’ will the held in the Civic Hall on May 19, and is the brainchild of the Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce’s Business to Business Impact Group, chaired by Raine Harvey-Cantrell, and supported by members of the chamber’s executive committee.
The chamber said many businesses are struggling to stay afloat during the recession so help is on hand in the form of experts from a range of businesses, including Lloyds TSB, Monahans, BLB Solicitors, Sylvester Mackett, Dreweatt-Neate, Business Link and the Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce.
There will also be workshops to address topical issues and schools and colleges will be taking part, including students from St Augustine’s Catholic College who will be hosting an art workshop, displaying pieces inspired by the 2012 Olympics.
Any businesses interested in attending the event should call 01225 355553.
“Selwood Housing’s board of directors sets the pay for all of the staff in the organisation. The annual pay review is thoroughly discussed and then voted on at a full board meeting.”
He said all staff were paid the market rate for their roles and until recently, the executive team were paid below this rate. They were granted an increase, he said, in return for high levels of performance.
“I believe that we pay all of our staff fairly for the work that they do,” he added.
