Teenage St John Ambulance cadet Alice Daniels from Melksham met the Princess Royal during a visit to Buckingham Palace to collect an award.
Alice, 16, who is the Wiltshire branch of the charity’s Cadet of the Year, went to Buckingham Palace to pick up her Grand Prior Award on Wednesday, March 11 and met Princess Anne, who is the Commandant in Chief (youth) of the St John Ambulance.
She said: “Visiting the palace and meeting the Princess Royal was an amazing experience and one I will never forget.
“Being part of St John Ambulance is fun, I have made new friends and learned new things.”
The Grand Prior Award is the main challenge for St John Ambulance cadets. To achieve the award cadets are asked to complete a range of topics which interest them, such as animal welfare, the environment and music and progress from the bronze award through to the Grand Prior Award.
