A FIVE-a-side football tournament organised by Wiltshire Addiction Support Project last weekend has been hailed a success by its organisers.
The event saw teams from as far away as Gloucestershire and Wales attend to play in the tournament at the Leighton Sports Centre in Westbury.
There were six teams in total in the competition, and the overall winner was Frontier Medical B with the Service User Support Team from Gloucestershire coming second and the Wiltshire Addiction Support Project team coming third.
Chief Superintendent Julian Kirby from Wiltshire Police presented a shield to the winning team at the end of the day.
Organiser Aaron Gibbins said: “It was a really positive day.
“It was about service users and service providers coming together for one day where there is no ‘staff and us’ attitude, everyone is just a footballer.”
He said he hoped to make the event an annual one and is now planning a friendly match against the Wiltshire Probation Service.
