Detectives investigating the murder of Trowbridge builder Adrian Cooksey said tonight two men have been arrested.
Mr Cooksey, 50, was found unconscious by an off-duty police community support officer in Melksham town centre in the early hours of las.
A week after his death, police staged a reconstruction of his last known movements in the hope it will bring fresh evidence to light.
An actor was used to trace the route taken by Mr Cooksey, a father-of-three, on his way from a pub to a taxi rank.
About 20 officers handed out questionnaires to people and carried out spot checks of vehicles in the area at about 2.30am today.
Police said tonight a 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were arrested over the weekend on suspicion of murder.
They are being interviewed by detectives in Melksham and in Swindon.
Earlier this week Mr Cooksey's partner Tracey Suggitt, 41, and his three sons Adam, 25, Simon, 26, and Michael, 22, urged potential witnesses to come forward.
Mr Cooksey ran his own building firm for nearly 30 years and was a stalwart of Bradford on Avon Cricket Club where he had been captain of the second and third teams.
A police spokesman said: "We had a very good response to the reconstruction and to officers speaking to people in Melksham.
"They have generated a lot of information which they are now sifting through.
"Hopefully it will jog people's memory."
A pair of glasses found near Mr Cooksey's body have now been ruled out of the inquiry.
Deputy Senior Investigating Officer Paul Kessell, of Wiltshire Police, said: "We know Mr Cooksey came out of Coronation Road and was moving towards Melksham town centre - at which point he was tragically assaulted.
"He was either on his own or walking with a friend along Spa Road in Melksham between about 2.30am and 3am in the morning last Sunday.
"We've got 50 officers working on this investigation - what may seem like trivial information could be vital to our investigation."
A 21-year-old man from Melksham was previously arrested on suspicion of murder but has now been released on bail pending further inquiries.
