Sessions to help promote oral hygiene in children will be running in Warminster tomorrow and Friday.
The Happy Little Teeth Campaign, which has been running at The Avenue Children’s Centre and Warminster Library since Monday, is being run by NHS Wiltshire’s oral health promoters, based at Savernake Hospital in Marlborough.
The initiative has been giving parents the chance to talk about their children’s teeth as well as encouraging them to promote healthy habits and help babies and children avoid the pain of toothache.
Dot Whealdon, oral heath co-ordinator, said: “If you are having trouble finding a family dentist, if your children have never seen a dentist or you’re worried because you haven’t had a checkup for some time, come along and visit our dental display.”
Over the next three months, the Happy Little Teeth campaign will be rolled out across the county.
Every year 500 children in the county have teeth extracted under general anaesthetic.
