A 38-year-old man is in hospital after being rescued from a fire in Trowbridge this afternoon.
The fire occurred at a semi-detached house in Brown Street, Trowbridge, at around 12pm.
Two fire crews from Trowbridge and one crew from Bradford on Avon were called to the scene and used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which had started in one of the bedrooms.
Fire crews then used mechanical ventilators to clear the house of smoke.
The occupant of the house was rescued from the property and treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by paramedics.
He was then taken to Trowbridge Community Hospital where he remains.
