Devizes Town U13s had a double celebration at the weekend, as they secured backing for next season from their pair of long term Sponsors Moxham Electrical and Car And Commercial, which will provide a new strip and training equipment.
They also played in the U13s County Cup Semi Final where they took on Stratton Juniors at Lydiard Park, Swindon.
In a match that started slowly, Bradley Hill of Devizes Town use his pace to good effect to out strip Stratton's defence on two occasions only to shot wide with just the keeper to beat, but on 18 minutes he again broke free but this time expertly finished from 20 yards, after that Stratton came back into it for a while and after some good saves from Adam Walters in the Devizes goal, he was finally beaten by a smart effort from the edge of the penalty area.
At the start of the second half it was all one way traffic as Devizes got on top and further goals from Bradley Hill (3) and a 25 yard free kick from Jamie Weir that the keeper seemed to misjudge as it sailed over him and into the net, with the score at the final whistle being being 5-1,Devizes now progress into the the final to face another Mid Wilts Youth League team in Trowbridge Town, which is a credit to the League.
