The top two teams in Division One met in the quarter-final of the Pied Piper Promotions-sponsored A and B Cup and it was second placed Frome Town Sports who won through to the semi-final with a 3-1 win over leaders Seend United.
At the half-time interval it was Seend who had the advantage with a one goal lead scored through the ever dependable Chris Styles. The second half saw a rejuvenated Frome take to the field of play and they were soon on level terms when Joe Upshall scored. With the game then turning in Frome’s favour they scored a second from Sam Anstis and then a third through Josh Bennett to seal a 3-1 win.
The Deverills 3, Bratton 3
THE Deverills and Bratton will have to do it all again in a replay as even extra-time could not separate them as they played out a 3-3 draw.
At half-time it was 1-1 as Adam Lewis scored for The Deverills and Tom Crawford for Bratton. The second period saw another four goals, Mike Payne and Nick Bunyard scoring for The Deverills and Tim Coombes and Dan Cox for Bratton. Extra-time failed to break the deadlock.
Lavington 5, Freshford United 0
LAVINGTON cruised into the semi-final with a comfortable 5-0 win over Freshford United.
By the half-time interval Lavington had the match wrapped up with a hat-trick from Myles Hickton.
Lavington added two further goals in the second half, through Steve House and Rob Jenks.
