SET in a fictional kingdom where Soup day is the highlight of the year, this animated tale hits the cinemas bang on time for the school holidays.
On the first Sunday of every spring, royal chef Andre (voiced by Kevin Kline) and his loyal assistant unveil the year's royal concoction.
Darkness descends after an inquisitive rat called Roscuro (Dustin Hoffman) causes a Royal tragedy, and the King decrees that the selling, making and eating of soup are all outlawed, and vermin are banished.
One tiny creature, a mouse with unusually large ars called Despereaux Tilling (Matthew Broderick), dares to strike up a tender friendship with the King's daughter, Princess Pea (Watson).
Exiled, he struggles to restore peace and harmony to his world........can he succeed?
