Trowbridge Town Council apprentices, Daniel Tanner, Sharifa James, Gary Jenkins and Holly Larcombe have enjoyed their first summer on the Sports Roadshow and coached over 800 children in a wide range of sports and activities.
Within the first half of their apprentice scheme the coaches have attended various courses including child protection, stilt walking and level once coaching qualification. They have also supported local events such as quad kids at Bath University, Trowbridge Beach Party and Carnival and TAFF events.
The sport coaches are now coaching in ten primary schools and one secondary school in Trowbridge and provide breakfast clubs, lunch time play, extended school provisions and coach with teachers during curriculum time.
The coaches will be supported and encouraged by another new addition Amy Ramsey, the new leisure activities supervisor and Hayley Bell who was promoted to leisure activities development officer. With a team who has numerous experiences within the sports and leisure industry this brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role as well as a passion for sport and getting children and adults active!
Trowbridge Town Council are interested in talking to qualified sports and leisure coaches who would like to pass on their skills and knowledge within Trowbridge.
