After years of struggle, photographer Leon Kaufman (Bradley Cooper) arouses the interest of influential art-gallery owner Susan Hoff (Brooke Shields).

She encourages Leon to chronicle the seedier side of city life, which leads him into the path of notorious killer Mahogany (Vinnie Jones), who stalks his victims on the subway then butchers them.

As the photographer's fascination with Mahogany begins to take over his life, Leon's girlfriend Maya (Leslie Bibb) fears she may be about to lose the man she loves to the dark side.
