Broughton ran out 5-2 away winners over Heytesbury in their preliminary round first leg match in the E J Shanley & Son Limited-sponsored Division Two Cup.
Leigh Rowles-Hitchcock scored the only goal of the first half for Broughton, but the second period saw Heytesbury equalise through Paul Dredge and then take the lead when James Vincent scored. Broughton then stepped up the pace to get back on level terms, with Sean Fordham grabbing the goal, before a final flourish saw them bag another three goals through Leigh Rowles-Hitchcock, Simon Bagnall and Julian Putt.
Trowbridge Wanderers 2, St Andrews Winsley 5
TROWBRIDGE Wanderers will have it all to do in the second leg after they also lost 5-2 in their home leg against St Andrews Winsley.
Winsley went into the half-time interval one goal to the good, and by midway through the second period they were 3 -0 up.
Wanderers then staged a mini-revival as they pulled two goals back, courteously of a Nigel Penelhum penalty and a strike from Martin Johnson, but Winsley confirmed their win with two further goals in the dying minutes.
